The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill "On Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine" (re Participation of Public Officials of the First Category in the Elections of the Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Local Councils, Mayors of Villages, Settlements and Cities)

Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No.2563), the public officials of the first category are prohibited to run for deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and participate in the local elections, interfere in the process of nomination, influence free expression of citizens´ will, or promote such expression by any means during such elections. The Bill introduces relevant amendments to the Laws "On Elections of the Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Local Councils, Mayors of Villages, Settlements and Cities", "On fighting Corruption in Ukraine", and "On Local Self-Government in Ukraine".
